Pilates - The Reformer Pilates is a complete mind and body conditioning programme. It is not just about exercise, it encourages the way you think and feel about your body as well as increasing your understanding of it and how it moves.

The Pilates Reformer is the most popular piece of Pilates studio equipment. It is an extremely versatile, resistance-based machine that consists of a complex set of springs, ropes and straps, all connected to a gliding carriage.

The Reformer helps to establish core stability and postural alignment while working the arms and legs in a range of movements. The exercises can be performed lying down, sitting, kneeling or standing on the carriage and the straps are used to place either your feet or hands in to allow you to push or pull yourself on the carriage against resistance, increasing strength and flexibility in your body.

There are many exercises that can be performed on the Reformer, ranging from the fundamentals of Pilates that would assist with any Beginners Matwork, to a more challenging advanced workout. It is not only a good way of helping you to get the most out of your Pilates class or workout, it also enables people with a limited range of movement or injuries to safely do exercise and restore quality function and movement back to their body.

Benefits of the Reformer
Stretches and strengthens muscles for a longer, leaner look
Increases individual strength and flexibility
Realigns the spine
Aids in identifying and addressing muscle imbalances
Can be a stimulating and challenging workout
Restores quality function and movement to the body after injury
Can enhance sports performance

The Pilates Reformer has an excellent reputation for producing noticeable results.
